Our group spent several hours one morning walking through the forest in search for the right composition of trees to provide a “treetop view”. Finally, I found the treetops that I wanted for this photograph. I was looking for a healthy group of Aspen trees, along with several other criteria: all yellow leaves, no dead trees, some symmetrical pattern or opening at the top, and clear skies.

Each of us came away with different subjects and compositions, highlighting the creative diversity and skill levels withing our group of four photographers. I am always grateful for their friendship and their technical guidance. It was a fun morning.
