Caddo Lake was not on my radar until some of my photographer buddies began posting pictures of this iconic area. It is a 25,000-acre lake that was formed centuries ago. Some of the bald cypress trees are over 400 years old. The lake is the largest natural lake in Texas and is home to the largest cypress forest in the world.

At the beginning of our photo trip, our guide, Russell Graves, asked what our expectations for the trip were. We all had the same answer: to photograph this incredible swamp, with a focus on the bald cypress trees draped with Spanish moss. We were not disappointed, as that scene appeared everywhere we went.
