Enjoying a hot air balloon ride over the plains of Africa during a photographic safari was a special treat. Marvene and I loaded into the balloons before daybreak to witness sunrise from the air. This was the Great Migration season, and we were able to see lots of wildlife from the air. We gently floated over a bloat of hippos crowded into a bend in the river. The pilot let the balloon down until we were probably less than one hundred feet above them. I leaned out over the edge of the basket for an overhead shot of the hippos. A champagne breakfast was waiting for us when we touched down at the end of our ride. It was a fun adventure.
