This was the first day of the season for salmon fishing in Juneau, Alaska. My photography guide and I flew into Bear Creek on a float plane to photograph bears coming to the river for salmon. We did not see a single bear. There were several groups of fishermen that morning, which kept the bears away. Residents of Alaska are allowed up to fifty salmon each day. These guys were easily catching their limit. It was an amazing sight, which I captured with my iPhone.
I was enjoying the experience until my bear spray accidentally went off. I was temporarily blinded. My guide took my hand and led me down the mountain to the lake where I washed my face and flushed my eyes out for at least 30 minutes. My sight finally returned. It was an exciting morning.
