We found this old cabin deep in the swamp of Caddo Lake. We wondered if anyone could stay there, even just overnight. A quick glance at the water lines on the trees indicated that the place probably flooded often. How would the owners get there? How would they carry their household items inside? What about critters coming inside? As these questions were being discussed among the photographers in our boat, a late-model pickup truck drove up beside the cabin and began unloading its cargo. Apparently, this old place was more accessible and less rustic than it appeared. We returned that evening to finish photographing the cabin, this time without the distraction of the truck.
