Marvene and I developed a robust admiration for the ruggedness of Arches National Park. Delicate Arch is featured on the license plate of Utah vehicles and is one of the most famous and frequently photographed geologic features in the world.
This was our last day of vacation, and it was beginning to sprinkle as I climbed to the arch for my photograph. Visitors were lined up to stand beneath the arch with their family and friends for photos. I waited about an hour until the crowd thinned and got my shot just as one group walked out of the composition of my photo and before the next group entered the scene.
