In February 2025, Tim Stanley and I photographed some of the Salt Grass Trail Riders as they wended their way between Bellville and Hempstead, en route to the Houston Fat Stock Show and Rodeo parade. They were such a fun group, waving and enjoying themselves as they carried on their tradition of western life.
Marvene, Freddie, and I met up with some of them later in the week at their campsite. I shared copies of my photographs with them. It was a fun adventure.
