It was a dark and stormy night. That cliché was used so often as an opening story line, that even the comic strip dog, Snoopy, began using it in Peanuts in July 1965. But for Marvene and me, and our traveling buddies, the Perrys, it was a real-life experience as our harbor cruise in Sydney, Australia turned treacherous with rain and high winds.
