If you google Bergen, Norway, you will likely see a photograph of these historic buildings, which date back to the 14th century. The name Bryggen is Norwegian for dock. It is the harbor district in Bergen, one of Northern Europe’s oldest port cities, established in 1350. Viking Cruise Lines always shows these buildings in its marketing information, but I never knew where it was. Marvene and I were excited when we saw it on our itinerary. At last! We were also thrilled that our good friends, John and Nanci Bunk, were right there with us for this experience.
