The Blue Swallow Motel has served travelers on the historic Route 66, and later Interstate 40, since its opening in 1942 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. The celebrated motel is one of the most iconic businesses still in operation along the entire highway. Tim, Andy, and I happened to be there on Halloween night and had to wait patiently to get our photos. We were waiting for a break in the foot traffic from kids coming in and out of the motel office getting candy. It was a fun evening.
