Marvene and I got to visit Petra in Jordan during our church tour of the Holy Lands in 2013. This famous location was featured in the 1989 Harrison Ford movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I had to get on my knees beside this camel and wait for him to raise his head to just the right angle and for the sightseers to move out of view of the camera. (I seem to spend a lot of time waiting for visitors to move out of view of the camera.) This poor camel was tired and thirsty.
One more thing: The carved front is all there is to this scene. There are no rooms carved into the wall, unlike what was portrayed in the movie. It is only an exterior carving in the side of a rock wall.
