A dramatic sunset illuminates railroad tracks and grain silos in the rural countryside.

Tim Stanley, Andy Crawford, and I arrived in southwestern Colorado just as the sun was setting. We checked into our hotel then hurriedly drove down the road to the small town of Kit Carson (population 250). We were searching for a scene that we could place in the foreground while capturing the setting sun. This railroad track and grain elevator seemed to offer the right composition. We were unaware that standing on railroad tracks like that was illegal. We got our photographs just before the next train came down the track.
