Tim Stanley, Andy Crawford and I decided to take a photographic trip to New Orleans, which is always visually appealing to photographers. We had just finished shooting sunrise at Jackson Square and were waiting for Café du Monde to open so we could enjoy some of their world renown beignets. Slowly, musicians began to arrive and set up their instruments on the sidewalk just outside the café. We soon learned that these musicians are all professionals, and most have played in the area for decades. This tuba player was the first to arrive. He had a Louis Armstrong voice and he belted out the blues.
