The iconic Arc de Triomphe monument in Paris shown from different angles against a vibrant blue sky with wispy clouds.

We spent the morning at the famous Louvre Museum, then rode the Paris Metro to see the Arc de Triomphe. By then, we were hot and tired. The pedestrian traffic and the road traffic at the Arc was quite heavy. Brenda Perry and I were photographing with our iPhones. I just didn’t see a prospect for a good photo given those conditions. Thankfully, Brenda encouraged me to switch to my Nikon camera. She said we were there and might as well do our best. I reluctantly dug my camera out of my backpack then worked my way through the crowd and up to the curb. After a long wait, there was a momentary break in the road traffic, the cloud formation became interesting, and I got my photo.
