In 1924, a man named Jardin Majorelle designed and built these colorful buildings and gardens, called Majorelle Gardens, located in Marrakech, Morocco. He copyrighted the name of this blue color, calling it Majorelle Blue. Yves Saint Laurent later lived here.
I was struck by this colorful geometric pattern and could not resist photographing it. This scene is quite different from most of my photos.
As I waited for the crowd to move out of view of my camera, this lady in white sat down. It was a warm morning, and I imagine she wanted to rest and cool off. Still, she knew that I was trying to photograph this scene. I think she wanted to be in the picture, and she does bring the scene to life.
